TATA TEA ESTATE

The Glenlorna Tata Tea Estate in Kodagu (Coorg) offers a serene and picturesque escape into rolling hills covered with lush green tea plantations. Managed by Tata Consumer Products, the estate is known for its neatly manicured slopes, misty surroundings, and tranquil ambiance that perfectly capture the charm of Coorg’s countryside. Unlike typical tourist spots, the estate provides a peaceful, drive-through experience where visitors can pause along the roadside to take in the scenic beauty and capture stunning photographs.

Location: Situated in the Kodagu, near  T.Shettigeri. It is about 19kms from Silveroaks.

The Experience: A relaxed, non-commercial sightseeing spot where visitors can stop along the roadside, enjoy panoramic views of the tea gardens, and take photographs. There are no designated entry points or structured pathways—just open stretches of plantation landscape best enjoyed at your own pace.

Timings: Open throughout the day as it is a roadside estate.

IRPU FALLS

Irpu Falls, also called Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, is a breathtaking 170-foot waterfall set amidst the Brahmagiri Hills in the Kodagu (Coorg) district of Karnataka. Surrounded by the greenery of the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, the falls are known for both their scenic charm and mythological importance. On the way to the falls lies the ancient Rameshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to legend, Lakshmana shot an arrow into the hills to bring forth the stream that forms the falls. Even today, the temple draws many devotees, especially during Shivaratri, adding a serene spiritual touch to the experience.

Location: Near Kutta, on the road leading to Nagarhole National Park. The falls are approximately 30 km from Silveroaks and can be reached in about 40 minutes by car.

The Trek: A picturesque 1 km walk through the forest, including around 225 steps and a suspension bridge across the river. Visitors can usually enjoy the water at the falls, except during the monsoon season. Changing rooms are available near the site.

Timings: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

WAYANAD WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

The Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary (Muthanga/Tholpetty)  is bestowed with lush green forests and rich wildlife.This wildlife area houses some of the rare and endangered species of both flora and fauna. A jeep ride through the jungles may lead to spotting herds of elephants, gaurs, deer, monkeys, tigers, leopards, bears, reptiles, fish, butterflies and birds. Visitor movement, however, will be restricted to the outer tourist zone as part of efforts to conserve nature.

Location: . Located 20 km east of Mananthavady on Kodagu road, the sanctuary is a natural habitat for many animal species.

The Trek: Each safari will take approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.

Timings: 6–10 am, 3–5 pm

NAGARHOLE TIGER RESERVE

On the foothills of the Western Ghats, Nagarhole National Park is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Nagarahole Tiger Reserve previously known as Rajiv Gandhi (Nagarahole) National Park, was named after the river ‘Nagarahole’ which literally means ‘Serpent River’ (Nagara-Serpent; Hole-River) in Kannada language. It is an important Tiger Reserve in Karnataka and is a major hub of conservation under Project Tiger and Project Elephant. The Protected Area supports large assemblages of carnivores and herbivores: Tiger, Leopard, Asiatic wild dog and Sloth bear, Asiatic Elephant, Gaur, Sambar, Chital, Muntjac, Four horned antelope, Wild pig, Mouse deer and South-western langur.

DUBARE ELEPHANT CAMP

Elephant ride is the most popular activity at Dubare Elephant Camp. Visitors can participate in various activities involving elephants. Visitors can go for three hour elephant interaction at the Dubare Elephant Camp. Other activities like 45 minute bath in the River Cauvery where tourists can give bath to elephants, feeding them with ragi, jaggery, sugarcane, banana and coconuts and a 45 minute elephant ride into the jungle makes your visit at the Camp a memorable one.

CHICKLIHOLE RESERVOIR

Located in between Madikeri and Kushalnagar, Chiklihole Reservoir has been made on one of the tributaries of the River Cauvery. It makes for a great picnic spot and thus wonderful for family outing as well. View of the sunset from here is exceptionally captivating and mustn’t be missed if you are at the reservoir. It offers amazing photographic opportunities as well. As there are no shops near the reservoir, it is better to carry all basic amenities with you

NAMDROLING MONASTERY GOLDEN TEMPLE

Namdroling Monastery is the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. The monastery is home to a sangha community of more than five thousand monks and nuns and qualified teachers, a junior high school, a Buddhist philosophy college or shedra for both monks and nuns, a home for the elderly, and a hospital.

NISARGADHAMA

Cauvery Nisargadhama is a scenic river island in Coorg formed by the Cauvery River, known for its lush greenery, bamboo groves, and peaceful environment. The island is connected by a hanging bridge and offers activities like boating, elephant rides, nature walks, birdwatching, and visits to the deer park and rabbit park, making it a popular spot for nature lovers and families.

TALAKAVERI

Talakaveri is the sacred birthplace of the Kaveri River, located on the Brahmagiri Hills in the Kodagu district of Karnataka. Situated 1,276 meters above sea level, it features a holy spring known as the Brahma Kundike, temples dedicated to Lord Agastheeswara and Lord Ganesha, and sweeping views of the Western Ghats. Near the kundike, there is a shrine. In front of the shrine, a huge tank has been built where pilgrims take bath and offer prayers.

Location: Located in the Brahmagiri hill which is at a distance of 8 km from Bhagamandala and 48 km from Madikeri.

Timings: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm

BHAGAMANDALA

Bhagamandala is situated on the river Kaveri in its upstream stretches. At this place, the Kaveri is joined by two tributaries, the Kannike and the mythical Sujyothi river.Tourists come and visit this place not only to witness its scenic beauty but to take a holy dip in the waters of Trivet Sangama. Many pilgrims perform various religious activities for their ancestors here at the sangam and it is also believed that a holy bath in the sangam is spiritually uplifting for the devotees. The water of Triveni Sangama is believed to provide peace to the souls of the deceased ones.

Location: Located in the Brahmagiri hill  and 38 km from Madikeri.

RAJA SEAT

Raja’s Seat is located in the middle of a garden called as Gandhi Mantap. This place was used by the Kings and the Queens of Kodagu who were the rulers of Karnataka for over 200 years from 1600 to 1834 CE. The garden is known for its scenery, and was a favourite place of recreation for the Rajas, and hence was permanently associated with them. It is built on a high level ground overlooking the cliffs and valleys to the west.

Location: Located in Madikeri, about 50 kms from Silveroaks

Timings: 9:00 am – 8:00 pm

OMKARESHWARA TEMPLE

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, built in 19th century, in 1820, by King Lingarajendra II as a gesture of his penance, it presents an interesting architecture that attracts not only devotees but everyone. Irrespective of which faith you are from, its unique blend of Gothic and islamic architecture is worth exploring. Another attractive architectural feature of the temple is the water tank in front, which is inhabited by various different varieties of fish.

Location: Located in Stuart Hill in Madikeri

Timings: 6:30 am – 12:00 pm; 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

ABBEY FALLS

The waterfall is the result of numerous streams combining to form a pool of water that eventually falls into the River Kaveri. During the monsoon, Abbey Falls’ breathtaking splendor multiplies several times. The water stream thickens and roars louder during the monsoon. It is enhanced by the surrounding deeper flora, which is very breathtaking. The waterfalls are across from a hanging bridge, tucked away amid the coffee and spice fields. One of the main draws is the view from the hanging bridge. The experience is unique because of the aromas of coffee and spices mixed with the cool, refreshing air.

Location: Located in Madikeri about 7kms from Raja Seat.

Timings: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

GADDIGE (KING'S TOMB)

A hilltop mausoleum complex in Coorg, blending Indo-Saracenic and Mughal styles, built to honor Kodava royalty. The complex houses three tombs out of which the central one is the largest. The mausoleum was commissioned in 1809 by Haleri King Doddaveerarajendra to honor his beloved consort Mahadeviamma, who was his second wife. Doddaveerarajendra also rested in the largest tomb alongside his wife Mahadeviamma.  The dome on the right was built for Lingarajendra by his son Chikkaveerarajendra in 1820, where he is laid to rest with his wife.  The simplest tomb on the left side belongs to Veerarajendra’s guru, the royal priest Rudrappa, one of the most revered Gurus of the Lingayat rulers.

MANDALPATTI

Mandalpatti is a scenic hilltop destination in Coorg, Karnataka, overlooking the grasslands of the Pushpagiri forests in the Western Ghats. Located at about 1800 meters, it is also called “Muguli-peth,” meaning “market of clouds,” and is especially popular for its stunning sunrise and sunset views. The ascent to the top of Mandalpatti via jeep takes 20–30 minutes through dense forests and narrow, winding paths. On reaching the summit, the scenery unfolds like a painted canvas — hills stretching far into the horizon, clouds skimming the earth and an uninterrupted sense of peace.

Location: Located about 16kms from Abbey Falls and 25- 30 km from Madikeri town.

Timings: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm
